Greater West Memphis Energy Affordability Fund
Google’s Greater West Memphis Energy Affordability Fund is awarding $1.25 million in 2026 to local nonprofits advancing energy access, solar solutions, and workforce development across West Memphis, Crittenden County, Memphis, and Shelby County.
ELIGIBLE INITIATIVES
The following types of projects are eligible for funding:
- Increasing energy affordability and efficiency
- Expanding solar energy and solar-plus-storage solutions
- Strengthening community resilience
- Building local workforce capacity for residents, small businesses, and nonprofits
ABOUT THE PROCESS
To ensure funding reflects local needs, Google has established the Community Energy Advisory Council, 12 leaders from organizations across the Greater West Memphis area. The Council will make funding recommendations for the competitive portion of the Fund. Elevate serves as Fund administrator.
Council members represent: 2nd Saint John Missionary Baptist Church, Arkansas Energy Office, City of West Memphis & West Memphis Utilities, Crittenden County, Entergy Arkansas, NAACP – Memphis Chapter, City of Memphis, Regional One Hospital, Southland Casino, United Way of the Mid-South, West Memphis School District, and Winthrop Rockefeller.
